The Outback Mind Foundation

ABOUT US

The Outback Mind Foundation exists to empower men throughout regional Australia to live healthier, happier, more consciously connected lives. With the climbing rates of mental health issues and male suicide, The Outback Mind Foundation works to proactively get ahead of the problem, providing men with the tools and solutions to find self-awareness and reach their full potential.

The Outback Mind was founded in 2019 by Aaron Schultz, becoming a health promotion charity - The Outback Mind Foundation - in 2022. After more than 20 years of experience in managing male teams across the construction, mining and manufacturing industries, Aaron knows that there is a huge need to provide men in regional Australia with more mental health support. With a preventative approach to men’s health, The Outback Mind Foundation provides ongoing well-being solutions that aim to help men get in front of their physical, mental, and emotional health.

Meet Aaron

Founder of The Outback Mind Foundation, Aaron Schultz, is a strong advocate for a preventative approach to men’s health. Having overcome his own period of huge self-doubt, crippling anxiety and poor lifestyle behaviours caused by overwork and burnout, Aaron managed to turn his weakness into his strength, becoming a teacher of meditation, yoga and anxiety management education. Aaron now has over 7,000 practical teaching hours, and is the driving force behind establishing The Outback Mind Foundation in regional Queensland, and now it’s expansion throughout regional Australia.

You can read more about Aaron’s journey through his book A Wink from A Guru, forwarded by AFL great Paul Roos.

OUR VISION

To improve the mental health of regional Australian men through connection, education, acknowledgment, and acceptance. Prehabilitation rather than rehabilitation.

OUR MISSION

To reduce mental health challenges for regional Australian men, and work towards eliminating male suicide and reducing domestic and family violence in our communities.

OUR VALUES

Every man has the capacity to become emotionally aware and deserves to feel safe, supported, and understood.

Every man has their own unique life experiences and has an important role to play in society.

Through awareness and understanding, The Outback Mind Foundation helps men find purpose and thrive.

Support The Foundation

The Outback Mind Foundation exists purely because of the generous support of others. If you would like to help us through a tax-deductible donation, or by having a fundraiser in your community, your support would be so appreciated.
